This is the best fan I have ever purchased. I got It for our fifth wheel to use for my husband at night because he would get so hot . It worked very well to keep him cooler along with the airconditioning. I have now been using it at night in my window to bring the cool air into my bedroom. I don't have airconditioning in there and that fan has been a God send. I bought it in 2001 and it just quit working and now I am looking to buy the same one.

My friend had one of these for about a year and it worked great. When we were looking for something for the office, I spotted it on the office depot web site and we looked no further. We purchased two, and they've worked great for about a year now. Unfortunately, it was so good that someone else in the company has walked off with it. Hence, I'm back at this page looking for another.
To the one negative review:
I don't fault you your negative review. YOURS stopped working after 2 days, so it was deserved.
But, to answer to your comment, "Obviously something is wrong with this model. Why would they replace it if they weren't already aware of a problem?": It costs the consumer $50. In todays economics, something electrical that is that inexpensive will almost always be replaced rather than repaired. I'm in manufacturing, so I know. After profit margins for the manufacturer, distributor, and retailer, it probably costs under $25 to make. An hour of repair labor would costs more. Then, there's the cost of shipping both ways, the cost of any parts replaced, the cost of shipping both ways, the additional trouble to the customer shipping it back, the addtitional time and frustration for the customer to wait, ...

Didn't know what to expect when i bought it. I am very pleased with
the fan. Does an excellent job helping to cool my office. Slight problem with the remote. No big deal. Amazed at how cool my
office is. Would and have recommended it. Several times.

This was a great fan for the 2 hours it worked. Got it out of the box plugged it in. Nice features, really liked it. Came back to work the following morning, plugged it in and tried to turn it on, won't power on. Called Holmes - they were very nice. Asked a few questions, asked for the model # and the # on the plug. Said - we will be shipping you a brand new fan! Well that's just great but it will take 7-10 days to get it! Umm let's see - and it's August!!
Obviously something is wrong with this model. Why would they replace it if they weren't already aware of a problem?
